An American Journalist, Emily gained popularity while working at KNSD TV, an NBC affiliate, as a reporter and news anchor in San Diego, California. She later joined MSNBC working as a news anchor and general assignment reporter before leaving in 2007.

In 2007, Chang joined CNN as an international reporter based in Beijing, China. In 2010, she started working as a news anchor with Bloomberg Television and Bloomberg West in San Francisco, California. 

Emily was later made the host for Bloomberg program Studio 1.0, where she interviews capitalists, personalities, including YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki, Melinda Gates, among other CEO. In addition to that, she made an appearance as herself in the TV series, Silicon Valley and Morning Joe in 2018.

Emily was born as Emily Hsiu-Ching Chang on August 11, 1980, in Kailua, Honolulu, Hawaii, in the United States. She is the first daughter of Laban Lee Bun Chang and Sandra Galleon Chang

Her father, Laban, was a lawyer, with originality traced to Taiwan, who died in 2003. Also, she has one sister named Sara, with whom she is very close since childhood.

Emily received her elementary and high school education at Punahou School in1998. In 2002, Chang graduated with a bachelor's degree in Social Studies from Harvard University.
